Unfortunately, besides the real-time fighting, the combat in War Commander doesn’t have more mechanics such as tactical deployment, operation of combined units, battle skills, etc. Also, War Commander doesn’t allow you to form alliances to strengthen the firepower. To some extent, it is not so appealing to the true hardcore gamers as a RTS game.

Steep with Greek myths, Immortal King is set in an eventful background, in which the dominance of the Earth catalyzes unrelenting wars among three factions led by Zeus, Poseidon and Hades, rulers of the sky, the sea and the ghostdom respectively. Luckily for you, you are armed with a gun, knife and grenades to kill the brainless bastards. Shortly before the launch of the closed beta, Splitscreen Studios now present a completely redesigned web site for Dino Storm, with lots of background info on the game and plenty of new screenshots that should help shorten the wait for the official launch in the 4th quarter of 2011.

To begin with, you need to improve your influence by building residences. Building the trailers is the start, of course. Till now, I’ve got this feeling that Capital City has something in common with CityVille, another Facebook game with a theme of city-building. You’ll always have the given tasks of building, building the small objects to the whole city construction in the end. About your city, it’s barely anything but a land, but believe me, after the tutorials, your city will be filled with the residence and business areas, etc. It’s all simple except that you need to plan your building area with some wits and that’s all.
Here is the interface of the game, very clean and clear. Without too many instruction buttons, you can see the entire energy bar and values on the top of the interface, and your goals, and the influence data at the bottom. To name a few, supplies are used to build; cash and energy (to earn cash by building and managing the business units like restaurants or bars; energy shouldn’t be wasted anyway); and the XP is something you need to level-up, and you can earn some XP by building stuff.

Undoubtedly, level-up is another basic element in the same type of online games; while in Capital City, it mainly depends on the building. You may want to hear this: it costs you a certain amount of energy besides cash every time when you build something. And you can get a new title right after you reach a higher level.

And last point, because it’s on Facebook, so you will inevitably receive your friends’ SOS messages. They may be short of cash, energy or supplies and need your urgent help. So you can easily travel to their cities, admire their city-building and give them a hand.

In a word, I still feel that Capital City is a city-building game with a title of crime-themed. It’s obviously better than Mafia Wars, which is just a text game; and its special theme makes it a little advantageous than CityVille. The combination is good, so enjoy your Capital City!
